His Majesty King Letsie III will be on a one-day visit in Mokhotlong to tour nutrition club exhibitions on Thursday this week.
Speaking to Lesotho News Agency (LENA), Mokhotlong District Agricultural Officer (DAO) Mr. Leluma Bereng said His Majesty will be visiting the nutrition clubs in his capacity as the African Union Nutrition Champion.
He said His Majesty will tour a communal garden at Thabang, nutrition club at Mangaung and then attend agricultural exhibition at Checha ground within the Mokhotlong town, where the rest of the day’s activities will be held.
He highlighted that the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Nutrition is working hard to ensure that nutrition issues are promoted in the district to support His Majesty’s role on nutrition as well as to address challenges of stunting and malnutrition facing the district.
In 2016, His Majesty King Letsie III was appointed as the African Union (AU) Champion on Nutrition and the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) Special Ambassador for Nutrition.
