PM INVITED TO KOREA AFRICAN SUMMIT

The Prime Minister, Mr. Ntsokoane Matekane has received an invitation to attend Korea African Summit to be staged in South Korea in 2024.

The invitation was presented by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Government of South Korea, Mr. Lee Do-Han during his visit to Lesotho on Monday.

When briefing the media, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations, Mr. Mpotjoane Lejone said Mr. Do-Han visit to Lesotho was to seek the country’s support for South Korea when staging World Expo in 2030.

Again, he said South Korea invited the Prime Minister to attend the Korea African Summit to be held in 2024.

He added that South Korea pledged to assist the country in developing the Moshoeshoe I International Airport and provide expertise in strengthening Agricultural production.

On the other hand, Mr. Do-Hun said his visit to Lesotho was to strengthen further bonds of economic cooperation between the two countries.

He added that they found it important to visit the Prime Minister after the new government was elected thus his visit marked the beginning of more visits to the country.

The South Korean delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs comprised the Chief Executive Officer of Samsung Company amongst others.
