Honourable Mohlomi Moleko Minister of Natural Resources

Hon. Mohlomi Moleko is the Minister of Natural Resources, which comprises the mining and water sectors. He was appointed the Minister of Natural Resources in November 2022. He is a Member of Parliament representing the Revolution for Prosperity (RFP) political party for Qoaling Constituency.



He has been a practising Chartered Accountant for almost 2 decades as a Managing Partner at Moleko & Associates and later as a Senior Partner at Moores Rowland (Lesotho), one of the largest audit firms in Lesotho. He is a commercially astute accountant and auditor with extensive experience in providing auditing, finance and accounting support services to companies and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in Lesotho and South Africa. He has served clients from small and medium enterprises to the largest companies. Utilising his experience in finance and operational management, he has been pivotal in ensuring organisations and companies are equipped with the management tools necessary to achieve efficiency and growth plans.

He is highly competent in financial analysis, forecasting, pricing strategies, identifying new market opportunities and implementing internal controls to ensure corporate compliance whilst minimising business risk. He has also served on various boards, committees and institutions most notably as President of the Rotary Club of Maseru, President of the Lesotho Institute of Accountants and board member of First National Bank Lesotho (serving as Chairman of the Audit Committee and the Risk, Capital and Compliance Committee).

He retired from auditing and consultancy in 2018 to pursue business interests full-time in a wide portfolio spanning mining, medicinal cannabis, cement and real estate development. He had a keen interest and passion for the construction and mining industries thereby establishing Global Thrust (Pty) Ltd which was involved in numerous business ventures that cut across a broad spectrum of industries with its core assets being in construction, cement aggregation and mining.

His brief political career began in April 2022 culminating in his appointment as Minister of Natural Resources.
