GOVERNMENT TO ASSIST FAMILY BRING THE DECEASED’S REMAINS HOME

The Government of Lesotho through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Relations has promised to support the family of a Mosotho student who died in India last week.

This was said by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations, Mr. Lejone Mpotjoane in an interview with the Agency on Monday.

In this exclusive interview, Mr. Mpotjoane said the ministry will assist the deceased’s family with needed documents and costs to ensure the deceased is brought back home.

He added that an officer from the ministry will also be assigned to do the administration work needed for the whole process.

Mr. Mpotjoane stressed that the deceased’s name shall remain withheld until the family makes a statement, however, revealed that the deceased was a male student staying in the town of Chandigarh, India.

The Minister added that details of the deceased will officially be released by the family when all necessary procedures have been completed.

Annually, a number of Basotho students are placed in a number of countries to pursue their studies.
