LCA ON CONSUMER SERVICE SURVEY

The Lesotho Communications Authority (LCA) has reminded the communications and network users to participate in the Consumer Service Survey that the authority is currently running.

Speaking in an interview with the Agency on Monday, the LCA Chief Economic Officer, Ms. Nozaba Sopeng said the survey is intended to assist the authority to fulfil its mandate of protecting the interest of the consumers of the communications services.

She said the survey is also aiming at finding out if the operating licenses that the authority has issued to the communications service providers are used as expected.

Ms. Sopeng explained that the authority has been conducting such surveys since 2021 and are done bi-annually to allow the authority to find ways of addressing issues from the previous surveys.

On the other hand, the Research Manager for the authority, Dr Dikokole Maqutu revealed that so far over 200 users have participated in this survey, saying they are expecting more to help the authority fulfil its mandate.

She mentioned that initially the survey was accessed at the authority’s website but this time users can access the survey from their smartphones for free charges.

She added that as part of the improvement, in 2025, the authority aims to implement measures that will help basic phone users to participate in the survey.

The Consumer Service Survey is expected to run for four weeks.
