Standard Lesotho Bank Business Banker, Mr. Mpho Mofubetsoana through Small and Medium Enterprises Agribusiness handed over M5000 worth farm feeds to Wool and Mohair farmers.

The bank contributed towards a small stock show targeting all participants from the 13 district woolsheds intended to encourage farmers to increase their production to enhance their livelihoods.

Speaking to the Agency, Mr. Mofubetsoana revealed that Standard Lesotho Bank sponsors the ten districts with farm feeds.

“This contribution differs from that of the national level,” he said without disclosing the exact figures.

The initiative has been going on for some years.

He further commended farmers for their hard work, saying they contribute a lot in economic growth.

One of the recipients from Sehapa Woolshed, Mr. Molikane Lenkoane thanked the bank for the support.

Approximately 66 percent of the country’s population lives in rural areas and depend on agriculture for their livelihood.

Reports show that the agricultural sector employs about 63 percent of the country’s population.
