VLF DONATES TO LDF

The Vodacom Lesotho Foundation donated M150 000 to Lesotho Defence Force Development Youth Program at the event held in Maseru on Tuesday.

When handing over a donation, the Vodacom Lesotho Executive Head of Regulatory and External Affairs, Mr. Tšepo Ntaopane said an organisation without purpose is nothing, adding that such an organisation’s business cannot be sustainable.

He noted that VLF and other corporates support this noble gesture to help LDF shape the youth’s future by archiving the better Lesotho we want.

He mentioned that the program is intended to make youth the future leaders.

When receiving the donation, the Commander of the LDF, Lieutenant General Mojalefa Letsoela expressed gratitude to the Vodacom Lesotho Foundation, saying this was not the first time it has offered a helping hand to the program.

Lieutenant General Letsoela said the key priorities of the LDF youth program are human security, development politics, recreation, robust development and the welfare of children.

He noted that they want children who know humanity and better Lesotho, saying VLF and LDF cannot archive this alone hence appealed to other corporates to offer a helping hand as this issue requires a collaborative effort.

Youth development programs within the defence forces or military organizations aim to engage and empower young individuals to become responsible and productive citizens. These programs often target youth who may be at risk of engaging in negative behaviours or facing challenging life circumstances.
