HIS MAJESTY THANKS TIHELI’S FAMILY

His Majesty King Letsie III on Friday, thanked Tiheli’s family for allowing the deceased to serve this country with pride.

His Majesty was speaking at the official funeral of Mr. Moeketsi Mackenzie Tiheli at Mohalinyane, Ha -Raboko where he noted that the deceased served under the late King Moshoeshoe II, saying it would not make sense therefore to call the latter his servant, but rather his father’s.

He said the deceased has left a legacy and was a trustworthy servant who did everything in his power for the betterment of the country.

On the other hand, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Mr. Tlohang Sekhamane echoed the same sentiments, saying the deceased was a man of integrity who would not impose his views on others but was brilliant and objective.

Mr. Tiheli was once a teacher at Bereng High School and was promoted to Education Inspector of LEC schools.

He served as the Minister of Education and Planning in 1986, of Labour and Employment from 1988 to 1990, then went back to being an Education Inspector in 1990, in 1997 he was appointed as a member of the Teachers Service Commission until 2008 when he retired.

The funeral was graced by the presence of the Speaker of the National Assembly, Minister of Local Government, Chieftainship, Home Affairs and Police, Mr. Lebona Lephema, former Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Lesao Lehohla, chiefs and senior government officials and the public.
