MR. MONYAKE WAS A LOVING, PATIENT PERSON-CHIEF SEEISO

The Principal Chief of Matsieng, Chief Seeiso Bereng Seeiso says the former Minister of Justice, Mr. Mophato Monyake was a loving and patient person who served the country and its people with loyalty.

Chief Seeiso was passing condolences on behalf of King Letsie III to the government of Lesotho, the Monyake family and friends during the late Mr. Monyake’s State Funeral Service held at Ha-Lengolo, Thabana Morena on Friday. He said even though it is painful to lose such a strong servant, they should accept his death.

He urged all to continue carrying on where the deceased has left, saying they should build oneness for they are one and do away with conflicts that promote dispersal among all.

The Prime Minister, Mr. Samuel Ntsokoane Matekane said the deceased was a hard-working well-known businessman who served the nation without hesitation.

He said unlike other people who enjoyed manpower benefits and upon completing school left the country to work in other countries, he stayed until his death, urging current learners to do the same for the development of this country.

The Prime Minister noted that the deceased will be remembered for his hard work in business operations locally.

On behalf of the National Assembly, the Deputy Speaker, Mrs. Tšepang Tšita-Mosena said the nation and the family have lost a strong hardworking servant and hero.

Sharing the same sentiments with the Prime Minister, Mrs. Tšita-Mosena said the deceased was fully involved in the business of working with other fellow men to boost the country’s economic growth.

She stated that the deceased was one of the people who served the nation in Parliament where it was not easy to satisfy the needs of the nation, saying they lack words to console the bereaved family and the nation.

The Principal Chief of Likhoele, Chief Lerotholi Seeiso said the death of Chief Monyake is the will of God, adding that it might take a while to heal from the loss.

He highlighted that God created all living things including human beings and his people should remember that he is God for today and tomorrow, saying it was time for the deceased to leave this earth.

The Head of the family, Chief Moletsane Bohosi thanked all who contributed positively with everything including their presence to bid farewell to their son.

He also appreciated that the deceased had insisted on being buried at his home where he grew up while the majority of his mates had left home for urban areas.

While serving in ministerial positions, Mr. Mophato served as Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, Minister of Police and Minister of Justice and Correctional Service.

Mr. Mophato Monyake was born on April 29th, 1961, in Evatone, South Africa and died after a long illness of cancer. He is survived by a wife and two children, a son and a daughter.
