The Lesotho Government has expressed its heartfelt condolences to the Republic of Namibia upon the passing on of President Hage Geingob on February 4th, 2024.
The Prime Minister, Mr. Samuel Ntsokoane Matekane conveyed his condolences on behalf of the government and Basotho to Mrs. Geingob, family, the government and the people of Namibia. He described President Geingob’s passing on as a significant loss not only for Namibia but for the entire African continent, leaving a void in the hearts of many across Africa.
The Prime Minister added that the late President Geingob was held in high esteem by the government and the people of Lesotho, recognised as an outstanding African leader who played a vital role in advancing Africa’s agenda globally.
The passing of President Hage Geingob is mourned not only in Namibia but also across the African continent, where his legacy as a dedicated leader and advocate for progress and unity will be remembered and honoured.
