Following his time acting as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at the Lesotho Communications Authority (LCA), Mr. Nizam Goolam has been officially appointed as the substantive CEO of the authority.

While introducing him to the authority staff on Monday, the Minister of Information, Communication, Science, Technology and Innovation, Ms. Nthati Moorosi said it has been a long time since the authority has not had a CEO and Mr. Goolam has been acting.

She said collaboration and support that will come from the staff to the Chief Executive Officer will be appreciated hence the authority will function better.

In his maiden speech, the incoming CEO, Mr. Nizam Goolam showed appreciation for his appointment showing that the support he has been getting from the staff has been a great one.

He mentioned that the authority has its own strategic plan and other priorities which can only be made possible through the collaborative work that the staff has been putting together.

Mr. Goolam however pleaded with his colleagues to continue working hard to ensure that they put the authority in a position of great benefit even to the next generations.

On the same note, on behalf of the colleagues Advocate Thato Ponya said with the longest time that they have had Mr. Goolam as acting CEO, they have never had a doubt of his leadership.

Advocate Ponya mentioned that as his right-hand men, they shall continue ushering him with all the support he needs to see for the proper functionality of the authority.

Mr. Nizam Goolam comes in as the successor of Mrs. ‘Mamarame Matela.
