FOREIGN AFFAIRS MINISTER CONGRATULATES SEBELEKOANE HEALTH FACILITY MANAGEMENT

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mrs. ‘Matsepo Makoae has congratulated the Management of Sebelekoane Health Facility for bringing closer health services to the Ha Phafoli community.
Mrs. Makoae made the remarks during the launching of Sebelekoane Health Facility on Monday where she said the management through its leadership has shown sympathy for taking care of members of the community medically.
The Minister clarified that if members of the community are not well cared for medically, they will not be seen in church on Sunday for spiritual rehabilitation, saying the management has made the right decision.
She informed the gathering that the Millennium Challenge Account has agreed to fund health services again and that more health facilities are to be developed and established countrywide.
Also speaking, the Minister of Police, Mr. Lepota Sekola requested nurses to be placed at the health facility to serve the community with respect and dignity through the provision of quality service.
He also notified the residents that they are lucky to be provided with permanent staff since the facility will be operating on a daily basis not once a month.
Mr. Sekola called on members of the community to support and protect the facility for their benefit, saying if they could decide otherwise, they will travel a long distance to Ribaneng Health Facility once again.
On the other hand, the Deputy Minister of Local Government and Chieftainship, Mrs. Mathato Phafoli promised the residents construction of a proper gravel road in the area soon.
She said it is time for her to bring various development activities to the area, saying she is mandated to serve her community by ensuring that the community is well served in all forms.
Mrs. Phafoli informed the gathering that the health facility has come at the right time when needed most, saying for a long time pregnant women had to travel a long distance to Ribaneng Health Facility and as a result, some delivered on the way.
The Community Councilor in the Area, Mrs. ‘Marelebohile Ramasiu expressed happiness over the health facility, saying the elderly, critically ill and pregnant women will get services closer.
She said it has been done as they normally plan before and God implement it, saying the management of Sebelekoane Health Facility has done great things for the Ha Phafoli community.
Mrs. Ramasiu, therefore, appealed to the government of Lesotho to install electricity and provide them with clean water, however confirming the availability of water in the area.
Meanwhile, Reverend Thato Lefatle said the initiative is intended to improve the provision of health services in the area, saying since 2020 members of the community were struggling to cross to Ribaneng due to the breakage of bridges as a result of continuous rainfalls.
He said since then, young children and infants are unable to receive vaccination drop hence the initiative, saying starting from today the facility will be operating.
Reverend Lefatle informed the community that they are going to receive services freely and with nothing to pay for, urging them to use the facility.
The Phafoli Health Facility is owned by the Christian Health Association of Lesotho through Sebelekoane Health Facility.
