PUBLIC SERVICE MINISTER GIVES OUT SCHOOL SHOES

The Minister of Public Service also a Member of Parliament for Maputsoe Constituency, Mr. Mputi Mputi on Wednesday presented school shoes to about 300 students from different schools in Maputsoe, Leribe.

This was done through the Mputi Foundation.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Mputi expressed gratitude to the community of Maputsoe for supporting the event.

He said the 300 school shoes are to be given to pupils from St. Luke Primary School, Maputsoe ACL Primary School and St. Boniface High School.

Mr. Mputi appealed to the Business Community and the community to continue working together for the development of the Maputsoe town.

Also speaking, the District Education Manager (DEM), Mrs. ‘Malara Khantši expressed gratitude to the Minister for giving out school shoes, saying this is for education development in the district.

In addition, she appealed to parents and guardians to allow every child to go to school.

“Soon we are going to search for the children who do not go to school in every village forced into child labour and the parents will face the law,” she stated.

The Principal of Maputsoe ACL Primary School, Ms. ‘Mahlabathe Molapo said the Minister will be blessed because of the giving.

She said the same should continue with other schools in future.

Echoing the same sentiments, the Maputsoe Town Clerk, Mr. Molungoa Matooane said through the act, the Minister is showing love for his constituency.

He appealed to the students to study hard so to make a change in their lives and communities.

One of the pupils who opted for anonymity said they are grateful for the shoes and promised to keep them clean and safe so that they last longer.

This was in support of the Back-To-School initiative by the Ministry of Education and Training.
