THETSANE SCHOOLS HONOUR MICSTI BACK TO SCHOOL

Schools in the vicinity of Thetsane convened at Thetsane High School in celebration of a back-to-school event organised by the Ministry of Information, Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation (MICSTI).

Schools represented include Thetsane High School, MASOWE High School, Lesia Government School and Sefate Sa Bophelo.

Outlining the purpose of today’s event, Principal Secretary, Mr. Kanono Ramashamole, in the Ministry of Information said they aim to celebrate with those who performed well during the 2023 – 2024 academic year as well as to instill the love for education among students.

In an interview with the Agency, a Sociology student at NUL, also part of the LDF youth development programme, Katleho Maseela said the presence of MICSTI today will go a long way in inspiring them to want to do better.

Another student of Thetsane High School, Liteboho Mbeka who is doing Grade 8 reiterated that as she starts the new year, the intention is to work harder, adding that events such as these will empower them.

Meanwhile, the well-known MICSTI Sesotho poet, Nomaswati Letsholo graced this event by leading with a Sesotho prayer at this crucial time when the country will be celebrating 200 years of existence of the Basotho nation.

The Principal of Thetsane High School, Mr. Tšoanelo Seboka welcomed today’s initiative saying it will go a long way in motivating and empowering children.

Thetsane High School was formed by the government of Lesotho to extend a helping hand to the needy and orphaned children.

Present at the occasion included Lesotho Communications Authority (LCA) staff, LDF through its youth development programme members among others.
